Practical matters are dominant this year. We may have to carve time out of our busy schedules to make time for romance. If we don't consciously clear space to attend to matters of the heart, they may keep slipping away. This can dampen enthusiasm within a current relationship or in our pursuit of a new one. If it's love you desire, you're going to have to treat it like an item on your To Do list, instead of just waiting for it to find you on its own. The good news is that a more pragmatic approach to partnerships can smooth out some rough emotional edges and reveal blind spots that have gotten in the way of fulfillment. This is a year when it's possible to make conscious improvements in your attitude, appearance and approach to connecting with others. Take a class, read a book or talk to an expert on the subject and you will be able to upgrade your relationship skills.

Fortunately, busy-ness (and business) will not crush the flower of love that wants to grow, no matter what obstacles it meets. Some key dates for making romantic connections are February 1, March 6 and March 10, when attractive Venus joins generous Jupiter, spiritual Neptune and the karmic North Node of the Moon. Neptune joins the Moon's North Node on May 3, spreading an influence of compassion and forgiveness for at least two weeks before and after. Magical meetings may happen during this period, as old prejudices about partnering melt away to make room for a more meaningful union. The New Moon in heart-centered Leo on August 1 is a Solar Eclipse that will stir powerful feelings. Venus opposes Neptune during this event to open the floodgates of imagination. Romantic fantasy can blur judgment, making it possible to pursue an unrealizable dream. Any inspiration you feel should be cultivated, but it may require a different garden to grow to its full potential.
