The road to professional success has some complicated twists and turns in 2010. It's vital to be adaptable and ready to make major adjustments, even to plans that have been established over the course of several years. Jupiter, the planet of expansion, shifts into super-sensitive Pisces on January 17, which can inspire imagination and stir interest in charitable works. Following your most compassionate instincts may not seem relevant to professional advancement, and can even appear to be a distraction, yet giving from your heart makes it more likely that you'll receive what you desire in return.
Still, there's little room for naivete as optimistic Jupiter hooks up in hard aspects (challenging angles) with planetary tough guys Saturn and Pluto. It's vital to balance idealism and hope with a total commitment to achieving your goals. Jupiter's oppositions to stern Saturn on May 23 and August 16 are testing times when progress can be delayed or stopped. Patience, renegotiation and career course adjustment may be necessary.
Jupiter's tense 90-degree squares with transformational Pluto on July 24 and August 10 could lead to power struggles. It's tempting to walk away from a difficult situation, but that might not be a great idea. The point is to weigh the potential rewards against the stress involved to achieve your aims. Pluto raises the stakes in the game, which means that a reinvestment of energy will be required to stay on track. If you're unwilling to come up with the passion needed to push through obstacles, it might be wise to seek employment elsewhere or even change your career. It's understandable to be cautious in a difficult economic environment, yet sometimes the safest move is to take a risk. The inclination to do that increases when Jupiter joins electric and inventive Uranus on September 18. This is a high-frequency alignment that sparks brilliant new ideas and an impulse to make a sudden change. It's great to be inspired by a radical new concept, yet it's best to slowly build a solid foundation upon which it can grow. A patient, cautious approach is your best bet to turning a sudden insight into a significant professional change.
