There's plenty of sass and sexiness this month now that hottie Venus is finally moving forward again. She's in impetuous, adventurous Aries where whatever's new is exciting and whatever's old is dull, dull, dull. But to make romance sizzle even more, she's closely tracking with passionate Mars through the end of June. These planets are astrology's lovers: Venus for attraction and Mars for action. Their ongoing liaison in Aries is likely to keep spring fever burning all month (and even warm up the fall for our Southern Hemisphere friends). The key to getting in on the action is to be active. Nothing happens without some drive, some desire and a willingness to take risks. Even if all you're trying to do is maintain a pulse in a long-term relationship, investigating new ways to play will make a major difference.

Emotions may boil over with the steamy Scorpio Full Moon on May 9. This is a sign of extremes that wants it all or nothing at all. However, mysterious Scorpio can also hide feelings, so keep a look out for signals from a suddenly silent mate or potential partner. Expansive Jupiter's stressful 90-degree square to this Full Moon turns small matters into major issues. Managing resources could be a key to maintaining harmony, so don't spend too much or act too cheap if you want to avoid this romance killer. On the other hand, desires can be exaggerated, making you feel like you can't live without someone who, upon reflection, is neither your cup of tea, coffee or vitamin water.

      Aries: Hot, Hot, Hot!

Ok Aries, it's time to fly! Romantic Venus is back up to speed in your sign -- this is your time to snap and sizzle, bringing fresh life to an old relationship or knocking the socks off someone new who can't get enough of you. Come on strong to make sure you shoo away the wimps and weaklings who can't handle your kind of love. Mars, your passionate ruling planet, is also tracking closely with Venus to raise the temperature even higher. When these two line up in your sign you know how to give and how to receive. You're likely to lack patience for the slow and doubtful, and you don't require much conversation since you're running on pure instinct.

      Taurus: A Month of Mysteries

The Sun in your sign should give your confidence a boost this month. Though with Venus and Mars scuttling through your 12th House of Secrets, you may be reluctant to act upon chances for romance, or someone might care about you without you knowing it. On the other hand, there is the possibility to enjoy someone new without plans or expectations, or to let go of the past and find a spark with your partner in the present. The May 9 Full Moon in Scorpio brings intensity to your 7th House of Partnership, helping you clarify what you're missing in a relationship. You could also attract a mysterious person who doesn't express feelings openly or frightens you with intensity or possessiveness.

      Gemini: Safety in Numbers

Romance may not come simply this month, as astrology's lovers Venus and Mars are in your 11th House of Friends and Teams. This could be about meeting someone through a pal or an organization, or it could indicate some boundary issues that could turn a friendship into something much more personal. You are likely to be more outgoing after May 20 when the Sun enters your sign, and the New Moon in Gemini on May 24 is especially good for putting wind into your sails. A harmonious 120-degree trine to this Sun-Moon conjunction from the karmically connected Lunar North Node attracts reliable people and provides you with clear ideas about what makes a relationship work.

      Cancer: Take the Initiative

It's important to take the lead in your personal life to make things happen this month. With both alluring Venus and passionate Mars running through your 10th House of Management, the choice is to be the boss, to get bossed around or to be left out of the action. Friends can play an important role for the first three weeks of May as the Sun is in your 11th House of Groups. The Scorpio Full Moon on May 9 raises the heat as it rouses strong feelings and desires in your 5th House of Romance. This is a strong signal to commit to expressing your needs, because you have a good chance to have at least some of them fulfilled.

      Leo: Broaden Your Horizons

Venus and Mars are astrology's hot couple, and they're close together this month in your 9th House of Higher Education and Travel. Classrooms, seminars and any situations dealing with foreign cultures can be great places to meet someone new. Complicated feelings may arise around the Full Moon on May 9 in your 4th House of Roots. If you're in a relationship, expect some unsettled issues to resurface. Going to extremes is to be expected on May 16 when the Moon is moving through your 7th House of Sharing, and the Sun, your key planet, forms stressful 90-degree squares with Jupiter and Neptune. What you think you're seeing may not be real, so take what you're experiencing now with a big grain of salt.

Virgo: Open Up to Something New

Your ruling planet Mercury flips into reverse gear from May 7-30. This tends to bring up issues from the past and complicate conversations. Slowing down and checking facts can keep a minor matter from turning into a major problem. Vivacious Venus and passionate Mars occupy your 8th House of Intimacy throughout the month, promising some excitement if you're willing to explore unfamiliar emotional territory. Your usually discriminating nature and attention to details may slip on May 20 when Mercury is challenged by expansive Jupiter and Neptune -- be careful about what you say and what you believe.

      Libra: Be Alert for Love

Your personal life should be very interesting this month as two planets, Venus and Mars, are firing up your 7th House of Partnership. This hot and sassy pair can help you attract a dynamic person or put more excitement into your current relationship. If you're tempted to go back to an ex on May 2, ask yourself if anything's changed to make it better this time. Another potentially challenging time is the Full Moon on May 9. It's in hard-to-satisfy Scorpio and your 2nd House of Self-worth, causing you to dramatize your flaws and bring down your confidence level.

      Scorpio: Let it Out

May starts off intensely as loving Venus aligns in a stressful 90-degree square with your ruling planet Pluto, which could lead to a showdown in a relationship -- use this powerful transit to get rid of something that's getting in the way of your happiness. The Full Moon in your sign on May 9 is another key event, a time when holding in your emotions is no longer an option. If you're single, this Full Moon can be a time when you recognize what and how you have to change to get what you want in life. But remember: this isn't about making anyone else happy but about recognizing what you want most for yourself.

      Sagittarius: Time to Let Loose

You could be in for some really good times this month as Venus and Mars, astrology's lovers, are tracking closely together, putting the scent of sex and sensuality in the air. This trend can be especially sweet for you because it occurs in your 5th House of Romance, Fun and Games. This doesn't signal seriousness in relationships or a desire to be tied down in a safe and predictable partnership. If you have a partner it's time to put more fire into your union, and single Saggies are ready to party like college kids. No matter how old you are, it's appropriate to be silly, self-indulgent and irresponsible now, as long as you don't hurt yourself or anyone else in the process.
