Spring Love Forecast 2006

This spring, get ready for an upbeat and unconventional love life. Although optimistic Jupiter and unpredictable Uranus are not the most romantic of planets, you will feel the impact of their harmonious connection as lovely Venus weaves her way through the sky. Venus can delight you with the unique romantic opportunities created by the Jupiter-Uranus combo. She can also make you wish you had a more stable love life. One thing is for sure, though -- love comes in many flavors this season.

Jupiter is far-reaching, allowing us to see the potential in any situation. With Jupiter in passionate Scorpio now, you seek deeper meaning from intimate relationships. Sexuality becomes a source of spiritual connection. Although this might steer you away from casual hookups, the effect of Uranus can still make for some wild times. Uranus works like lightning -- you never know when or where it will strike -- but when it does, it lights up the sky.

Since the beginning of March, mental Mercury has been apparently moving backwards in the heavens -- this is called "retrograde" motion. This period coincides with communications gone awry. On March 25, the messenger planet finally moves forward again, and it is now safe to say what you mean without being misinterpreted. Moving through intuitive Pisces, Mercury allows you to tune into people's thoughts and feelings. This time is also significant because Venus -- in freedom-loving Aquarius -- crosses paths with expansive Jupiter and fantasy-prone Neptune. Overindulgence is likely with Jupiter, whether you binge on food, alcohol or sex. Meanwhile, imaginative Neptune will fuel your illusions -- you could easily fall in love with an ideal instead of a real person.

The Aries New Moon Eclipse on March 29 ends one cycle and starts another. Let go of your expectations and remain open to surprises. Spring fever is contagious around this time and magical love can materialize out of thin air. Venus enters compassionate Pisces on April 5 and runs into the powerful Jupiter-Uranus trine (a 120-degree angle) between April 17 and April 21. Surprising twists and turns in your current relationship can make your head spin. You also might find a new love suddenly entering your life. Either way, it's quite a ride!

On May 3, Venus changes her outfit once again -- this time wearing the steamy attire of Aries. You're hot to trot, especially as the Jupiter-Uranus connection is activated again from May 4 to May 7. Feisty Mars, also in the picture, activates an emotionally super-charged pattern, agitating your physical needs and pushing you close to the edge of a cliff. Although this is exciting for romance, remember that impulsively jumping off that edge isn't always the best way to make a relationship last. Fortunately, stabilizing Saturn is here to teach you a lesson about self-control.

May 23 through May 26 presents you with yet another round of romantic excitement. You could find yourself in a power struggle, and if you let your ego get out of control, the sweet smell of love may turn into the stink of conflict. Once passions are aroused, though, there are delightful ways to indulge the senses.

On May 29, loving Venus returns to her home sign of Taurus, where she feels most comfortable. After a run-in with taskmaster Saturn on June 4 -- making you feel isolated or even unloved -- she quickly catches up with carefree Jupiter and dreamy Neptune, putting a smile of satisfaction back on your face.

With flirty Venus batting her eyelashes at the planets of expansion, delusion and experimentation -- Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus, respectively -- this spring provides the perfect opportunity to break out of old patterns and start fresh. Throw in a pinch of caution and a dash of common sense, and you've got a recipe for spring love supreme!
