Although summer is supposed to be a time of lighthearted fun -- and yours should have its share of that -- it begins with an emotionally intense Cancer New Moon on June 22, opposed by potent Pluto. This is an indication of the powerful feelings that are currently being unleashed between you and your partner, or your own strong desires to find the love you seek. Unfortunately Pluto can complicate even the most tender of feelings because it raises issues of jealousy and fears of abandonment. It's crucial to keep your heart open to what's happening in the present moment rather than slipping into old hurtful memories that bring up fear.
Fortunately, Venus and Mars, astrology's lovers, are traveling hand-in-hand through sensual Taurus at the onset of summer. They've created a harmonious trine to steady Saturn during this New Moon, which can help take the edge off the unfolding drama and stabilize a relationship -- if you're willing to move beyond the superficial chatter and discuss what really going on.
A Kinder and Gentler You
A rare cosmic event -- a super-conjunction of jovial Jupiter, healing Chiron and dreamy Neptune -- hangs over the sky through much of this year, filling your summer with irrepressible hope, even in the face of difficulty. Jupiter is exactly conjunct Neptune on July 10, raising the bar of your expectations. Beware, though -- high expectations have a way of leading to disappointment.
Venus and Mars dynamically square this magical congregation of planets from July 1 through 6, opening your heart to the possibility of love. Be aware that there isn't necessarily a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow that now appears, but the treasure hunt still could be fun.
The serious Full Moon in Capricorn on July 7 is a Lunar Eclipse that can change the rules of a relationship while helping you focus on what's most important to you. By July 11, both Venus and Mars are in whimsical Gemini, so don't be too hard on yourself if you change your mind about what you want.
Ch-ch-ch-changes...
The security-conscious Cancer New Moon Eclipse on July 21 is trine to independent Uranus, so rather than looking back to your past, this is the right time to change patterns that inhibit your growth and let go of people who block your fulfillment. On July 31 beautiful Venus enters tender Cancer, reminding you that love isn't only about having fun. You want to be nurtured and to be able to take care of someone special. But Venus opposes domineering Pluto on August 1, turning the simple act of love into a struggle over who is in charge. If you can get past the control issues, this is a dynamic aspect that can charge your relationship with the sweet intensity of physical passion.
A rare third eclipse on August 5 is confirmation of the high level of transformation that is not only impacting your love life, but all aspects of your life. This Full Moon Eclipse is in inventive Aquarius and opposite the Sun in fiery Leo, requiring you leave the rational thoughts in your head and live through your heart's desires. Good news gets even better when the Sun opposes the idealistic Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction from August 14 to 17, but your inflated sense of optimism can receive a reality check when mental Mercury joins austere Saturn on August 17.
Everything seems to be in flux between August 22 and August 26 when the Sun enters critical Virgo, Mars enters passive Cancer, Mercury enters fair-minded Libra, and Venus enters dramatic Leo. Too much change too fast can spin your head and your heart around. A long-standing power struggle that first surfaced at the very beginning of the summer may be back in your face on August 26, when aggressive Mars opposes ruthless Pluto. This can be a make-or-break point in matters of the heart, but with courage, honesty and kindness, you may find yourself closer than ever to the love of your dreams.
