Jude Law has the sharp looks of his Capricorn Sun sign. Gifted with glorious bone structure, the actor broke through with his 1999 role as Dickie Greenleaf in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley.' He was born in London on December 29, 1972 and began acting at age 12. Capricorns often grow up young and set their career sights well before most of their peers. At 17, Jude dropped out of school to star in the English soap opera 'Families' and soon after, he was acting on the London stage. His success there led to the big screen, where he's found international fame.
One of Jude Law's unique characteristics is his ability to appear menacing on film. He does fine, of course, as the handsome lead in 'Alfie' or 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow,' where his male model looks serve him well. But he's got a dark edge that sets him apart from most leading men, as demonstrated by Gigolo Joe in 'Artificial Intelligence' and Harlan Maguire, the photographer of the dead, in 'Road to Perdition.' There are three possible sources of this shadowy image in his astrological chart. First is Pluto, the planet of mystery and the macabre, which has a strong relationship with his Capricorn Sun. Pluto forms a tense square -- a 90-degree angle -- that darkens Jude's solar light with a brooding quality and a need to destroy the image that the public projects onto him. A distrust of fame will continue to attract Jude Law to roles that are less than heroic.

The second possible source of his shadowy image is his Moon. His exact birth time is unknown, but the Moon was likely in Pluto's home sign Scorpio on the day of Jude's birth. It's possible that he has the Moon in the preceding sign Libra -- he's certainly got Libran charm, but his emotional complexity suggests that Scorpio's the one. Third, his Mars -- the planet of action and aggression -- is in Scorpio, adding an erotic charge that can be both seductive and dangerous.
Jude's words are as skillful as his face is memorable. Mercury, the planet of communication, is in Sagittarius, where language can be fired off in rapid succession. His tempo is bright and light, spitting out paragraphs of dialogue in perfect rhythm. High-frequency Uranus supports his Mercury, indicative of elevated intelligence and above-average speaking skills. But an opposition from serious Saturn serves as an anchor for his verbal flights. The seemingly contradictory pair of speed and steadiness -- Uranus and Saturn, respectively -- is characteristic of his nature. Jude Law is a man of contrasts ... pretty boy and serious man, breezy charmer and menacing presence. It is this very complexity that gives him the range of a fine actor and earns him the fascination of his fans.
