Mark McGrath, the lead singer of Sugar Ray, has the chart of a very nice guy. He was born March 15, 1968 in Hartford, Connecticut with his Sun in Pisces. This super-sensitive sign is usually gentle and adaptable, often creative, and occasionally a source of confusion to people. In Mark's case, it's his resemblance to Ethan Hawke that often has fans asking him for the actor's autograph. The easygoing singer is more than happy to oblige by signing the name of Uma Thurman's ex. Mark's Moon, the symbol of feelings and habits, is in Libra, another people-friendly sign that serves him well as the co-host of the TV show 'Extra.' Both Pisces and Libra go out of their way to avoid conflict and are usually associated with the gentlest of souls. There are some edges in Mark's chart, though, that reveal another side to his sunny disposition.
The first clues are oppositions from Pluto and Uranus, astrology's wild guys, to his Pisces Sun. Powerful Pluto connected with the central star of our solar system shows that Mark's one formidable Fish. He can be very resistant to pressure and able to hold his ground against bullies. Uranus, the planet of freedom, hooked up with the Sun shows a streak of independence and a periodic need to reinvent himself. Not content to swim along in whatever direction life takes him, Mark can flip-flop in a flash and head off into uncharted waters. This makes him a reactive type, an individual who is unlikely to force his will onto others, but who can suddenly rebel against those who pressure him too hard.
Mark's Mars is in Aries, the fiery sign where the planet of action is very much at home. This adds spontaneity and excitement to his work onstage, but also reflects an appreciation for those who handle aggression well. He once said, "I'm a huge boxing fan. I love the strategy and the combat. I'm not a fighter, but I would love to be a boxer because I love the courage and toughness."

Still, there's little worry that Mark's going to give up banging out hits and hosting on TV to start punching people for a living, even though it might be good for him. ThatÂ’s because he has the Moon's North Node, a key point for personal growth, in feisty Aries right next to his Mars. Being rude won't make Mark popular, but it could be healthy for his psyche. However, the peaceful patterns of his Pisces Sun and Libra Moon are backed up by the karmic South Node in accommodating Libra, which makes fistfights with the paparazzi unlikely in Mark's immediate future.
