Those vampires keep coming back. No matter how many times critics have put stakes through the hearts of vampire books, movies and television shows, you just can't keep down the undead. Hard on the heels of the super-successful 'Twilight' books and movie, HBO rolled out the series 'True Blood,' where we can soak up the thick neo-gothic atmosphere of Louisiana first portrayed in 'The Southern Vampire Mysteries' novels written by Charlaine Harris. Anna Paquin plays the lead role of psychic waitress Sookie Stackhouse who, naturally, falls in love with a vampire. British actor Stephen Moyer, born October 11, 1969, plays the charming biter, Bill Compton. A look at their birth charts explains Anna and Stephen's on-screen chemistry, and helps us see how these two sparked a real-life romance-turned engagement in their off-screen personal lives.
Anna Paquin was a child actress who has made a difficult transition to become an adult star. She was born on July 24, 1982 with her Sun in the dramatic sign of Leo, joined with articulate Mercury, adding passion to her communication. Yet she's far from a wild Lion with loving Venus in cautious and self-protective Cancer and the Moon in analytical Virgo. Electric Uranus, the planet of inventiveness, forms a perfect 120-degree trine to her Leo Sun, adding spark to her personality and a unique edge to her performances.
Stephen Moyer has both his Sun and Moon in gracious Libra, joined with generous Jupiter to add a sense of adventure and a dose of good luck. He, like Anna, has a very cautious side. Stephen has Venus in critical Virgo conjoined with deep dark Pluto, making him a skeptic about love and one sexy vampire. Leo and Libra are a harmonious pair, which works well for Anna and Stephen's on-screen chemistry. But there's also tension as each one has Mars, the action planet, in a stressful 90-degree square to the other's Mars. This sometimes produces conflict, yet it's also a source of sexual intensity that adds spice to the show.
The Moon's Nodes are the two places where the Earth's orbit around the Sun are crossed by the Moon's orbit around the Earth. These are karmic points that show directions for growth and stagnation. Stephen's Venus (love)-Pluto (underworld) conjunction is joined his South Node. This shows an instinctive awareness of secrets and mysteries that make him such a convincing vampire. Anna's South Node is in ambitious Capricorn, which often indicates taking on responsibilities at a young age. Stephen's Mars is joined Anna's South Node, touching her at a very vulnerable point. As nice as Librans are, he knows how to push her buttons. This suggests a profound but complex connection between them, a perfect reflection of the unusual relationship they portray on the show, and play out in real life. This brings a degree of believability to this fictional world that fascinates and will likely continue to fascinate 'True Blood's' many fans.
