Rob Lowe is a Pisces whose questionable judgment almost destroyed his career more than once. He has the Moon in stabilizing Taurus, but whether that's enough to keep him on track remains to be seen.
Rob Lowe, an original member of Holllywood's "brat pack," was born March 17, 1964 in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Pisces actor has been marked by some questionable decisions in his personal and professional life. There are some very reliable Pisces individuals, of course, who don't have these issues, but the combination of good looks, fame, fortune and an errant Neptune may have contributed to Rob's troubles. The most serious of these involved sex with a minor that was recorded on videotape in 1988. Rob's Venus, the planet of pleasure, is in sensual Taurus opposite unrealistic Neptune. Staying within appropriate social boundaries can be an issue with this combination, although the positive sides include higher-than-average levels of creativity and compassion. Since this transgression, and after gaining sobriety, Lowe stayed out of trouble and has been a responsible father and husband.
Professionally, Rob appears to have been off the mark when he quit the highly successful television series 'The West Wing' in 2002 and starred in two shows, 'The Lyon's Den' and 'Dr. Las Vegas,' both of which were quickly cancelled. Still, Rob made a brief reappearance in 'The West Wing' before the show ended its run. While he tends to be perceived as a pretty boy, the rapid-fire dialogue of the show's creator Aaron Sorkin required a fast mind and speedy tongue. Fortunately, Rob has Mercury, the communication planet, in Aries. This fiery first sign of the zodiac is made for quick thinking that enabled him to play the part of super-smart Sam Seaborn for 82 episodes of the show. Mercury in Aries can also be impulsive, though, which may account for some of Rob's less-than-cautious moves.
In the long run, we can hope to see Rob settle into a comfortable professional niche where he's less likely to take chances. That's because he has the Moon, the astrological symbol of habits and needs, in stability-seeking Taurus. This fixed earth sign is generally more concerned with safety than risk. Rob's career has survived scandal thanks to a pair of saving-grace trines to his Venus from inventive Uranus and resurrecting Pluto, but the road of infamy isn't one he wants to travel down again. Still, when a Pisces gets a taste of glamour, the intoxicating flavor can be difficult to forget. The challenge to keep his feet on the ground may be something that Rob's going to deal with for the rest of his life. The fantasy world of show business feeds the Pisces desire to escape reality in spite of the Taurus Moon call to settle here on earth, which will make the Rob Lowe story a fascinating one to watch for years to come.
